A Note From our National Committeewoman, Gail Bray:

Hi Dems,
This past weekend, Grant Burgoyne, National Committeeman, Jeanne Buell, State Party Vice Chair and I attended the DNC meeting in Washington along with Maria Weeg, Executive Director.

It was a wonderful meeting full of opportunities to meet with, hear from and evaluate the Presidential hopefuls. We heard from a great field of 10 declared candidates.

I urge you to go to the web site at the end of this note to hear the speeches (which were carried live on CNN as well) for yourself. Hopefully some of you were able to hear them then. If not, they were very strong and we look forward to hearing more from each of them in the race ahead.

Nevada is very pleased to be part of the early decision maker states as #2 with their Caucuses. It should insure that the issues of the West are part of the dialogue and help in the selection of a nominee who will be more attractive to the West and definitely more informed by virtue of Nevada being in the mix.

Washington, DC - This past weekend, Democratic presidential candidates gathered with party members from across the country in the first formal national forum of the 2008 presidential elections. DNC Chairman Howard Dean was joined by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and every Democrat running or considering a run for President at the DNC's Winter Meeting in Washington. The forum highlighted the strong leadership Democrats are already showing in Congress, and will show in the White House after 2008. 

Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd, Illinois Senator Barack Obama, New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, former North Carolina Senator John Edwards, Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich, Delaware Senator Joe Biden, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, former
Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack, former Alaska Senator Mike Gravel, and General Wesley Clark (ret.) addressed 400 DNC members, whose membership guarantees them a vote
for the nomination at the 2008 convention, and hundreds of Democrats attending the meeting.
