A CLEAR MESSAGE OF HOPE AND GRACE FOR PEACE

Wednesday, January 24, 2007

This is a message of hope, love and grace for peace loving Americans on both sides of the political aisle, and the elusive policy for peace our nation has been searching for.  There is indeed a  POLICY FOR PEACE, simply outlined t :1. LAW  ENFORCEMENT, 2.SECURITY AND finally 3. DIPLOMACY, a broad plan to deter terrorism and ease international tensions   .Of course the policy is much more complicated than than 1,2,3.

Let me start with DIPLOMACY, a subject which I know the most about.

A: PERSONALIZE THE MEANING OF OUR BILL OF RIGHTS AND CONSTITUTION.  DIPLOMACY should be spelled UNDERSTANDING  and  RESPECT for other cultures, but NOT ACCEPTANCE FOR VIOLENT VIEWS.  How many of our national and international diplomats understand Muslim culture. How can they criticize or confirm it if they do not know it?

B. RESPECT OF LIFE and the acknowledgement, it is too bad that countries and individuals are at each other`s throats...we should not be eagerly looking forward to, or gloating, over kills of terrorists and terrorist leaders. They get more defensive and lash out again..  We need to get this message across to our enemies and that we feel that defensiveness as well and truly want peace.

 C. DIMINISH THE ARMS RACE on both sides with UN INSPECTORS.  This plan kept the US and Russia from an all out nuclear war for years.  This idea would help with the Mid-east arms buildup, particularly Iran...and Korea.  Korea`s leader has suggested his is open to  such a policy.
What Asian or Mid-eastern country  when threatened with preemptive strikes would not attempt to defend itself. And why was little Yemen on the hit list of preemptive strikes anyway..?
While it would be ideal to destroy all military weapons, especially turn weapons of mass destruction into plow shares, it will take time to instill self worth and hope to individuals and  to instill trust between nations.
D.PERSONALIZE  and INTERNALIZE THE MOTTO, "WORK FOR PEACE, NOT WAR".  THE TONE  of well meaning activists on both sides of the aisle is essential.  Besides our nation`s voters being tired of the angry, sarcastic partisanship  jokes, attitudes, dirty political tricks and revenge, these traits are  destructive and serve no positive, peaceful purpose, only causing hurt feelings, stalemates, revenge and NO PROGRESS IN THE PEACE MOVEMENT.   WE SHOW NO RESPECT FOR THE PEACE MOVEMENT WITH OUR ANGRY SARCASTIC TONES.

E.WE MUST INDIVUALLY SOUL SEARCH AND LEARN TO DISTANCE OURSELVES FROM THE SARCASM. center our psyches, get our selling points in order and convince the opposition rather than goad them.  No one likes a pontificator, male or female, who with their pompous, endless, sarcastic rhetoric tries to shape public opinion for PEACE? , nor is it productive in promoting the issue.  Do you recognize yourself?

F.We must learn to RESPECT OURSELVES AND THE IDEA OF PEACE and have enough faith and new understanding that reason will prevail.

G. To further peace we must send representatives to ATTEND ENVIORNMENTAL summits and take the messages seriously.  Our economy must be strong and vibrant to employ our millions of workers and maintain our high standard of living for most, but surely enviornmental advances in technology would only employ more and make ours and the world`s  enviornment more healthy.

H. ATTEND WORLD PEACE SUMMITS  and take the messages from there seriously.  We have more than enough diplomats to go around to respect even the little nations.  Send out a hopeful message and not a destructive one to the world`s young men and women with the depressing prospect of a proposed 70 years war by some in power.. There are better ways to fight terrorism.

I. TAKE INTO ACCOUNT ALL NEGATIVE AFFECTS OF WAR including psychological as well as physical trauma for both warring soldiers, the affects on their families and the stress and fear of war on nations and the world..  The physical damage to the infrastructure and the impossibly high cost of replacing it.  The damage is  not only inconvenient to the nations attacked it interrupts the food source, comfortable homes, transportation for pleasure and well as necessities and necessary medical care to state a few examples.  It interrupts markets as well and the free flow of economy.

 J. UNDERSTAND THE PRICE OF WAR also includes the exceedingly high cost of arms that could that could bankrupt even rich warring nations and be better used in affordable  amounts for peaceful purposes. ..health care, affordable housing, transportation...you know the rest.

//2. ///We need more policy under SECURITY than my poor brain can comprehend, but let me give you an example that has not been pursued to the maximum affect.

A. Study targets of terrorism and CONCENTRATE OUR LIMITED RESOURCES AND MONEY  on securing ports, airports, foreign embassies etc.

///3.//WE ALSO NEED MORE POLICY UNDER LAW ENFORCEMENT THAN I CAN OUTLINE, BUT FOR STARTERS:

A. DEVELOP insight and infiltration of  terrorist cells.....only a handful of law enforcement personnel speak, write  or read Arabic or know Arabic culture to help here.

B. COOPERATE with US law enforcement agencies and international agencies.  This is a work that is only just begun.  The web can apply to common criminals as well as international violators.

C.. BRAINSTORM law enforcement personnel, give credence and reward for the best ideas by putting them into effect.
    D. The National Guard will always be necessary to respond to riots, looting, natural disasters and
        so forth.
While some members of the military are nothing but racist thugs others serve to make a positive
difference in the world such as liberating Europe from the Nazis and more recently bringing peace
to Kosavo and stopping ethnic cleansing.
