BOISE, Idaho – Members of the Idaho Democratic Party’s Central Committee voted Friday to elect attorney Keith Roark as their new chairman.
Roark, a central Idaho resident, was last seen in politics in 2002, when he ran for Idaho Attorney General against Republican Lawrence Wasden, although defeated at the polls, Roark won the endorsements of many newspaper editorial boards and even some high-profile Republicans.

BOISE, Idaho -- To nearly 180,000 Idaho seniors and citizens with disabilities, a sound Medicare system is a matter of life or death. Yet, a vote by Republican Rep. Bill Sali of Idaho today betrayed those Idahoans, their families and the physicians the that the patients rely on.
Facing the prospect of at least 10 percent cuts, Congress responded with vital legislation to protect the soundness of Medicare. It passed by wide, bipartisan margins, but was vetoed by President Bush. Today, the House voted by an overwhelming margin to override that veto. But Sali voted No!

BOISE, Idaho – The jig’s up. It’s well past time for Representative Bill Sali to stop being fiscally reckless. Sali should finally pay off his campaign debt before the end of the second fiscal quarter.
Sali’s 2006 campaign ended nearly 20 months ago, but Sali still owes various individuals and companies more than $125,000. [FEC] Sali’s owed so much for so long that even his political allies have had enough.

BOISE, Idaho – As Senator Barack Obama began a two-week economic tour today, Idaho Democrats gathering for their convention in Boise are highlighting the sharp contrast offered in this November’s election.
Senator McCain, who voted with George Bush 95 percent of the time last year, HAS SAID that Americans are better off than they were seven years ago and admitted that he doesn’t understand the economy as well as he should.

Washington, DC - On the same day John McCain gave a speech aimed at repositioning himself as a "moderate" for the general election by claiming to be a "conservationist," the Washington Post highlights Senator McCain's true priorities. According to the report, Senator McCain reversed himself and backed legislation resulting in a land swap that allowed one of his biggest donors to develop federal park land despite concerns from forestry officials that the deal would short-change taxpayers.

Abraham Lincoln and declared that “major combat operations in Iraq have ended” in front of an enormous banner that read, “Mission Accomplished.” Around that same time, John McCain said “it’s clear that the end is very much in sight.”
