The Bristol Club is made up of local businesses and business owners. Named after the Bristol Hotel, a local hotel owned and operated by former Idaho State Representative from Ada County, Maude Cosho.

Rep. Maude Cosho thought the best thing for business was creating a strong community. That’s what Idaho Democrats are fighting for.

Democrats Support Business

Democrats support fully funding education. Well-funding K-12 and higher education will develop a skilled workforce in Idaho and improve the quality of life for Idaho families. Idaho leaders have undervalued the importance of well-funded quality education for our children and workforce. Democrats are committed to fully funding education.

Democrats Support ProBusiness Reform  Whether it’s supporting competition, fair tax codes for all businesses, funding infrastructure or making it easier for new businesses to start, Democrats want to see a healthy and profitable market for all.

Democrats want to bring Idaho politics back to the common sense and effective governance. The Republican supermajority in the state has pushed Idaho politics to the extreme-right, punctuated by unpredictable governance. Extremism hurts our business community by putting ideology before good public policy, while inconsistent policy making makes for an unpredictable market for businesses to navigate. Democrats want to bring Idaho’s politics back to relying on common sense, and what works, so we can get back to debating policies and not ideology.

Ada County Democrats are Competitive

The Ada County Democrats are growing and becoming more competitive. In 2020 we had one part-time staff person focused on building party infrastructure. In 2021, we hired two full-time staff members to focus on voters and build party infrastructure. We know that direct voter contact is the best way to reach voters. The Ada Dems launched Idaho’s first year-round field organizing program in May 2021. As a part of our program, we worked with the Idaho Young Democrats to hire six part-time student field fellows to organize volunteers and reach out to voters.

Our fellows and volunteers knocked on more than 7,000 doors, made 5,600 phone calls, made 3,800 direct messages, and we had 3,000 meaningful conversations with voters around Ada County.

We raised more than $130,000 in 2021 and we’re planning on raising $300,000 in 2022 to support our candidates and reach voters directly. Our goal is to hire six full-time field organizers to organize volunteers and build the largest coordinate campaign Ada County has ever seen. We are working harder than ever to elect common sense candidates up and down the ballot.

The Bristol Hotel was owned and operated by the late Maude Cosho, a local state representative known as ‘the Lady from Ada’. Rep. Cosho was a local small business in Boise who fought for women’s rights in Idaho when women were just entering politics.
