Future Elections in Boise

Boise city council was districted for the first time in the 2021 election. Starting in 2022, new districts were drawn with 2020 census data to create six city council districts. 

Four council districts will be on the ballot in the 2023 November election. Two seats were uncontested in the election and were therefore cancelled under Idaho State law.

For the 2023 November election, odd-numbered districts will be elected to four-year terms and even-numbered districts will be elected to two-year terms so that council elections are once again staggered. Even-numbered districts will be up for election again in 2025 and will be elected to four-year terms to complete the process of districting.
