Voter Registration Training

There have been a lot of questions recently about the new legislation on Voter Registration. The rules of HB340 didn’t seem clear at first – and they just took effect on July 1st. While the youth group Babe Vote has sprung into action with their own lawsuit (read more here!), we have little choice but to learn to work within this new system for now.

We have scheduled a training to inform activists on the new rules. Join the Ada Dems as we discuss how to register voters under the new laws, how to request absentee ballots, and what the options are for ID and proof of residency.

Join us on zoom at 5:00 PM MT on Friday, August 11th.

Let’s work the Western Idaho State Fair!

In last week’s newsletter, we talked about grassroots organizing. Here’s a great opportunity to reach people in a fun environment while working with other Democrats. The Ada County Democrats host a booth each year at the Western Idaho State Fair. You will sell swag, register voters, sign people up for absentee ballots, give prizes to children and engage in meaningful conversations.

Last year we registered several hundred new voters! We have multiple shifts available each day between August 18 and 28.

Email office@adadems.org or district16@adademocrats.org to sign up.

Do you have your tickets yet for the Gracie Pfost gala?

  • A downtown Boise hotel stay and tickets to the Steelheads.
  • Vacations! Trips to Tuscany or New Orleans, or bourbon tasting in Kentucky are all possibilities.

Buy your tickets before August 1 for the best price.

Relational Canvassing Training

The day before yesterday, we switched up our recurring training series with July’s Relational Canvassing Training. Instead of offering the training on zoom, as we usually do, we hosted this training during the Ada Dems Central Committee Meeting! This training was a lot of fun, and with a captive audience, we had a lot of attendees! If you didn’t make it to this training, however, I still want you to be able to utilize the power and convenience of Relational Canvassing!

Careful readers may already know that every training in this series has been recorded, and if you need access to the recordings, you need only ask! Email me at field@adademocrats.org and I can make sure you’re a Dem before getting that recording to you! We have three sequential votebuilder trainings, our volunteer recruitment training, our two-part persuasion training, a two-part precinct captain training, and now our relational canvassing training!
