Birds are singing, flowers are blooming, and it’s only snowing once every two weeks. It must be almost
May!

The May Election!

Just three and a half weeks left until the May 16th elections. Please remember to request your absentee ballot for the May election and the remainder of elections in 2023. Remember, you need to complete this request every calendar year in Idaho.

There are important things on the May ballot. Depending on where you live, you might be voting on a supplemental levy for your school district, library boards or sewer district boards. You may not have anything on your ballot in May, but are you so sure that you can’t request your absentee ballot just in case?

It is critically important to vote in these local races because there are extremists on every ballot!

You can view your ballot HERE.

Please request your ballot today HERE.

We need you! Precinct Captains!

Did you realize that Precinct Captains are the most fundamental part of the Democratic
organization? Captains are responsible for communicating with and turning out voters in their precinct and can make the critical difference in close races. The other party has over 80% of their precinct captain positions filled, and the Idaho Democratic Party only have 17% across the state. There are a total of 197 Precincts in Ada County, and of those, we have 114 Vacancies. Our goal is to fill all of these vacancies before the 2024 election, but we need you to step up!

The duties of Precinct Captains include:

  • Attending legislative district or county central committee meetings (Ada County makes this easy; we meet once per month and a Zoom option is available).
  • Electing county and legislative district leadership.
  • Nominating a replacement if any Democratic elected official resigns in your area.
  • Contacting your neighbors at least once a year.
  • Volunteering to help Get Out the Vote.

It is not a big time commitment and is an incredibly rewarding experience. Not only do you get to meet your neighbors, you will advocate for positive change in Ada County while hanging out with other inspiring Democrats. For more information, contact LILY, Field Director, or RICHARD, Executive Director of the Ada County Democrats!
