September has arrived! A lot is going on in Ada, from Pride, to our Gala, to our regular work to get Dems elected!
Voter Registration – Clarifications and Corrections
Last week, we gave the whole newsletter over to talking about the voter registration rules! Well, we’re not finished just yet- this week, I wanted to make sure to address a point that was missing from last week’s email, and make a further clarification.
All forms of voter ID must be current in order to register to vote. Mostly, this would apply to something like an Idaho Driver’s License or State ID. These forms of ID can not be expired when registering to vote OR when proving ID when voting.
However, these IDs do not have to match the address where you are registering to vote. If your ID does not match, you will have to go through the process of completing your voter registration, as detailed last week and here on our website.
You will have to bring proof of address to the Elections Office in person, via email, or complete your voter registration on Election Day by bringing that document with you to the polls.
Thank you so much for working hard on registering voters! Many groups are still working hard to provide this opportunity to people around Ada County, including a very successful week at the Western Idaho Fair. Great work, volunteers!
Boise Pride
Next weekend, September 8th -10th, is Boise Pride! I’m so excited to celebrate LGBTQIA+ Pride with people from all over Idaho.
Boise Pride weekend is always one of the best times to engage young voters, register them, and inform them- we can’t miss this opportunity to make a big impression!
We also want to have a huge presence in this year’s parade! Sign up to march with us in the parade!
This year is the 34th celebration of Boise Pride! Founded in 1989, it draws in attendees from all over the Pacific Northwest. I can’t wait to see you there!
Ada Dems Gala
Only three weeks left until The Gracie Pfost Gala! I can feel the excitement building from everywhere in the community. This is going to be a very special Gala! Tickets are running out, so be sure to snag one today and join us on September 23rd!
Gracie’s Gala is an outdoor event- and though it might be hard to believe right now, you might want to pack a jacket! Maybe sunscreen… don’t worry, you won’t have to pack your water bottle, we’ve got you covered this time.
VIPs are invited to an exclusive early mixer, from 5:00PM to 5:30! If you are a monthly donor (AKA a member of the Ada Club) or are sitting at a premiere table, you are a VIP! Get down to the Gala a little early, and we will treat you to a free drink!
